I am looking forward to starting my weekend! This week has been another busy one as usual. I have been trying to get a lot of homework done before Friday so I can enjoy some of my weekend. The last few days have been quite humid so I am also looking forward to the weather cooling down over the weekend.

So this week I played around with a new blog. This one I am not publishing any time soon. I am basically researching how a blog can be beneficial to students learning a second language so I am trying to figure out ways to use the blog. I created my own design and even set the language for Russian so it looks pretty cool. Oh, and I added the Russian music to the blog too. The one bad thing about adding music to a blog is that it takes forever to upload it.

The other highlight of the week is the box of chocolates a friend gave to me last weekend as a gift. Every chocolate is different so E. and I have been trying new ones each day. I had a few without him though since I thought maybe he wouldn't like them. Yeah, I thought that was a good reason to go ahead and eat them. Ok, so maybe it was because I took a vacation day on Monday and couldn't resist eating a few while he was working. I hope he still loves me.

Oh, I almost forgot that I haven't posted for awhile. I should probably mention the exciting events of last weekend. Last Sunday E., my friend, Betty, and I went to a Phillies vs. Nationals game in DC. We had no problem getting to the stadium and even made good time getting there. It was the last game ever in that stadium so it was kind of cool to see the closing ceremony, even if the Phillies didn't win. After the game we had to take Betty to the Dulles airport so she could fly home. Since we had to drive through DC to get there it was inevitable that we would get lost. We did, however, find the Arlington Cementary without any problem. We eventually stopped at a gas station and found out we weren't too far off with our directions. Betty still made it to the airport early so at least E. and I did our part. E. and I dropped her off and then proceeded to get on the wrong ramp to head home. We caught ourselves before we were too far and then ended up circling the airport. Nothing like seeing Dulles airport twice in one day. Unfortunately poor Betty had problems at the airport so it was a good thing we got her there when we did or she would have missed her flight.

Well, I only have to get out of bed early one more day this week. Looking forward to sleeping in! Hope you all have a good weekend! I will try to post again soon! -S

Experiment with audio/video files

Ok, this isn't like one of my normal posts, but a professor I know wanted to add Russian music to her blog. I guess it has been a busy week. This week just flew by. On Monday afternoon I got into my car to come home and when I starter her up the radio was dead. I was a bit annoyed since I just bought this new car a few months ago to replace the one that was crushed by a tree:

So I called the dealer and took the car in on Wednesday. Turns out the fuse just fell out and all I had to do was check the fuses myself and I wouldn't have had to drive to work in silence for the day and a half. It doesn't seem that bad, but in the mornings I drive to work not fully awake so the radio keeps me going. I have never quite been a morning person so I appreciate anything that can help me get through until around lunch time when I start to feel like I am alive.

The one good thing that came out of the car thing is that we finally went to Ikea to buy a small dresser for the bedroom. E. and I have been sharing a dresser for over 3 years now, and although he thinks it is fine I have never been able to fully adjust to sharing a dresser. Of course I always have contemplate whether or not I need to buy something that costs more than $10 so it took me awhile to come to the decision that, yes, I should just buy the stupid thing. I feel much better now that I did. Now if we could actually get the thing put together then that would be even better.

So another thing I did this week was go to a presentation at work on blogs and a program called Second Life. It is amazing the technical advances we have made the past 10 years. I am still amazed at what we can do with computers.

Anyway, the first presenter shared what he could do with a program called WordPress. It is another program similar to blogger, but there are things you can do with it like adding audio files that you cannot do with blogger. This is important for someone like me who wants to fully use a blog for educational purposes. I can't imagine setting up a blog to assist in learning Russian as a second language and not being able to add audio files for students to listen to from time to time.

The other presenter talked about Second Life. Well, I cannot even imagine how this program was even started. It is jaw dropping what you can do with it. So basically it is a virtual world and you can actually go in and talk to people from all over the world. I am really not doing it any justice here. You will just have to check it out for yourself.

So today we have another PSU game. I am kind of nervous about this one since we are playing Michigan in Michigan. We decided to have a few people over for the game so that should be fun. We have a friend flying in today so she can hang out for the game and then drive to DC with us tomorrow to see the Phillies game.

I am sure there are other things I wanted to catch you all up on, but I think it is too early for me to think of anything else at the moment. My tummy just growled at me so I think I am going to get a bite to eat before getting ready for the long day ahead of me. -S

Summary of the week and comments

It's a cloudy and chilly Saturday morning. I woke up around 7 this morning even though it is pretty dark outside. I thought I would fall back to sleep, but I think for the first time this week I actually slept well. I made breakfast for both E. and I before sitting down to work on my assignment for this week's class. Usually E. is up before me and he makes the breakfast, but this morning I was more awake than he was. I decided to try making scrambled eggs with cheddar and apples. I had an omelet with cheddar and apples a few months ago and it was delicious. I think my version is a very close second.

The rest of my week seemed to go well. Wednesday I had my class where went over how to do research and use the library. A lot of this I already knew from being a student the last few years, but now I know more search engines out there so that will really come in handy. I really have to start researching for my thesis. I think that will be next week's project.

Thursday E. and I went to a Phillies game with a friend who was in town from NY. The game lasted over 3 1/2 hours. I always go to those games that last forever. It was fun talking to our friend though so the game didn't seem to last forever like it would normally. It was college night too so there were long lines for beer and hot dogs. I decided to stand in the long line for "crab fries," which are crinkled french fries with old bay seasoning. I intend to go to a baseball game and not eat too much junk food, but it never happens. In addition to the fries I also had some ice cream and a hot dog. It's a good thing I don't always eat like that, huh?

So yesterday morning I could hardly get out of bed. I was so tired from not getting enough sleep all week, plus, didn't get to bed until almost midnight Thursday night. I had to make sure I was at work early for a meeting I had at 8:30 am. Who in their right mind wants to schedule a meeting that early? At least they had a continental breakfast waiting for us when we arrived.

Well, today is another college football Saturday. PSU is on the Big 10 network so we have to go out to watch the game. I did a little homework this morning so I could go watch the game in the afternoon and not feel too guilty about not getting any work done. Now if I could just figure out what I should say in my evaluation for the reading I had then that would make my day even better.

So I looked at my comments from the last post and noticed a few complaints. It seems "somebody" is a little perturbed over my comment on how he broke the cable and he wants me to update here that he also fixed it. Well, he did fix it after he was on the phone for probably about an hour with the cable company. I am happy that I didn't have to do that. Is that good enough?

Oh, and I saw another posting from my "blood relative". I guess I can't make you all happy with my updates, huh? Well, this "blood relative" has been a big part of my life. To name a few important moments: I remember when I lived in State College and we would occasionally meet up for lunch. She also arranged to drive me to my parents over Thanksgiving break because I had my wisdom teeth out and couldn't drive. I think we even had Thanksgiving dinner at her place that year. Oh, and her and my uncle helped me move my things down the Philly area after I graduate Penn State. So all that being said, she knows she isn't just considered a "blood relative"!!!!

Ok, I now have to go get ready to watch some football. You all have a good weekend!

Trying to get ahead

Well, I think my body is starting to catch up with my interrupted sleep these past few nights. Last night was not as bad as Sunday night, but it still wasn't a perfect night's rest. Sunday night I woke up twice from awful nightmares. It's always those ones where I'm being chased by some creepy person somehow. I purposely stopped watching scary movies long ago because my imagination runs while at night. I had to wake myself up from the dreams I was having and tell myself everything was ok. The second time I woke up and fell back to sleep I actually succeeded in not having any more dreams.

Other than my sleep interruptions I have been trying to get ahead in my class work. I am reading ahead so that I can start working on putting together my proposal for my thesis. I will start that shortly. Things are going well so far, but I will see how tomorrow and Thursday go.

The rest of this week should be pretty busy. We are planning to go to a Phillies game at some point. I do not have a good record this season with my Phillies games so I hope they win this one. I don't think E. will take me back if they don't. Of course I can remind him that he broke the cable in the living room so now we have to call the cable company to have them reprogram it. I am now sitting here typing without the usual background noise of whatever I chose to sort of watch while I type.

We have one more weekend of no real big plans before things start to get busy again on the weekends. We have a trip to DC coming up and another trip to Dewey Beach. I am looking forward to both, but when I am in school I can never fully enjoy the moment. I always feel like I should be doing something. It's funny that I never felt this way as an undergraduate. I guess becoming more of an adult and somewhat more responsible changes how you view things. Or maybe I am just too obsessive compulsive now when it comes to schoolwork.

Well, I am just rambling on now. I should go see if I can fix the tv since someone else has disappeared. -S

Football Saturday

Well, I am sitting here watching Michigan losing badly. I thought last week's game was a fluke, but the team apparently needs some serious defense. I sure hope PSU can finally beat them this year. A win against the Wolverines has been long overdue.

So today has been quite productive. I already finished my reading for class and even took notes. This morning I typed up an outline for a presentation I have on Wednesday. The last thing I need to do is to write 2 paragraphs on an article I had to read. One 250 word paragraph is the summary and the other 250 words is an evaluation. I finished the summary draft just a few minutes ago and decided to take a break. Do you know how hard it is to write one paragraph on a 14 page article? It is pretty hard. I am interested to see what kind of feedback I get from my prof. when I meet with her later this week. Should be interesting.

The rest of my life has been pretty normal. I have been working, reading, or typing. Thursday night E. and I went to a nearby restaurant for free food and $1 drinks. That was fun. I don't really drink that much so I only spent $2 + tip. Cheap date, huh?

This upcoming week will be much of the same. I don't have any plans except for work and school. We may catch a baseball game if E. talks me into it.

Can't think of much else. Not an exciting post, eh? Well, maybe I will think up more for my next one. Until then, -S

Back to School

First, I would like to mention that finally one of my blood relatives posted a comment! I thought none of you were reading! It's about time. I know you guys are somewhat tech savvy and should be able to figure out how to comment!

Well, on to my life. Labor Day came and went. I had to work so I didn't go to any barbecues. E. stayed home and actually did some things around the house. I didn't expect him to do much on his day off, but was pleasantly surprised when I came home. (I had to change my boyfriend's name to E. He was jealous that I had an alias, but didn't ask him if he wanted one.)

Today was just as busy as yesterday. It is ok though. I don't mind having work to do. I sometimes have more energy when I have work to do so it keeps me awake. Tomorrow will be my first day back in class. I think the class this semester will really help me with my thesis since it is a class on writing and research. Now I just have to work on the details of my topic. I decided to research a blog one of the profs. is putting together for her second year Russian class. I thought it would be interesting to see how the students' Russian language learning shapes through using a blog to communicate their interests to the rest of their class. I think it will be a fun research project. I am still developing the project yet so I don't have all the details worked out.

Anyway, enough about my work and research. E. and I had a good weekend. Saturday we went out with friends to watch the PSU game. It was pretty predictable. What was a surprise though was that Michigan vs. Appalachian State game. Boy, was that fun to watch. Any PSU fan will tell you that we will always cheer for almost any team who plays against Michigan. The restaurant/bar we went to watch the game was filled with PSU fans watching the Michigan game. I think there was definitely more excitment over that game than after the PSU game ended. That loss really made our day!

Sunday E. and I went to the city and enjoyed the day. We went to see the movie 2 Days in Paris, which was good. We then went out for dinner at this trendy diner place we like. Since we just got a couple of appetizers there we decided to go somewhere else for dessert. Now I could order a whole dessert for just myself, but E. is usually good at talking me out of it. We ended up splitting a piece of chocolate peanut butter pie. I think that was enough for me. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach so I think much more of the dessert and I wouldn have been too full. That was about it for my evening so we went home. I went to bed while E. stayed up since he didn't have to work.

The rest of the week seems to be pretty open. Mostly I will start doing homework again and getting ready for the weekend. We don't have much planned this weekend and I'm glad. We may go to a Phillies game at some point during the weekend. Other than that I hope to watch PSU beat Notre Dame. I am looking forward to that!

Well, E. is patiently waiting for me to finish this post so we can go for a walk around the neighborhood. I better get moving! -S

Go Penn State!

OK, first I need to address Jeni's question on the pashmina. Basically a pashmina is a special type of shawl made with cashmere. Usually they are pretty expensive unless you travel to someplace like Turkey to get one. Apparently in NY you can find them for about 6.50 like you would in Turkey. Wikipedia can probably explain it better detail than I can: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pashmina.

Now that I answered that question, I will move on to the rest of my post. This week was a busy one. I went from running around in NY to running around at work and after work all week. Well, Monday was a relatively quiet day. Tuesday I ran to one of my favorite clothing stores, Ann Taylor Loft. They have these great sales and I can get nice looking work clothes for a fraction of the price. In addition, I can check out the new stuff and wait for it to go on sale. I just had to exchange a few things then I went home and made some dinner. E. was at the Phllies game so I had a nice evening to myself.

Wednesday we went out to see Casablanca. I have never seen it and it was playing in one of the local theaters. Except for the noisy girls sitting behind us, we had a good time. I didn't realize so many of Bogart's lines have been quoted throughout the years. Now I know where those famous lines come from.

Thursday E. wanted to check out a book signing at Barnes and Noble so we did that. I listened for awhile, but the guy kept reading from his book. I got bored so decided to go get a tea at the coffee shop and read browse the magazine section while I waited for E.

By Friday I was tired out. I received my new laptop from Dell so I played with that. After dinner E. and I went to one of our favorite ice cream places. Their flavor of the day was black forest. We split a dish of that and shortly after we got back home I went to bed.

This weekend is my last free weekend before I start my class again. I am going to enjoy it as much as I can. PSU plays their first game this weekend so I think we may try to catch that at lunch time somewhere. There is also a movie I would like to see this weekend, but it is only in certain theaters so we will have to go to Philly to see it.

Well, just wanted to catch you all up on my week. I am going to go now and start enjoying my weekend.

Post typed on my new laptop! -S

prescription drugs and adventures in NY

So I can't remember where I saw this, but recently I found out that over 60% of prescription drug users are located in the U.S. I thought this was interesting. On average, I think, one person in each household is on some sort of prescription medications. I also found out that only the U.S. and New Zealand are the only two countries that allow drug companies to advertise on TV. Soon it may only be the U.S. because New Zealand may pass a law banning drug ads on TV. Hmm, well, after seeing this information I noticed in maybe the past week while watching the news between 6:30 and 7:00 pm that NBC, CBS, and ABC all seem to break for commercials at the same time. And, on top of that, what are these commercials about? You guessed it--prescription drugs. Every single one of them. I am actually surprised when I see an ad for something else. I thought I would just bring that little bit of information to your attention. Don't know if it interests anyone else, but me.

Ok, on to my life. So the rest of the NY trip went well. I forgot to mention our dinner on Saturday night was mostly cheese, wine, and then chocolate fondue for dessert. We ate pretty late so decided to just nibble on a few things instead of order a full meal. Sunday we opted out of the big trip to Brighton Beach and just took a short train ride to Soho and the Village. This was decided over a leisurely brunch. I think we made the right decision. Both Betty and I were way too tired from all the traveling the day before to think about doing that again all day. We still had to take the train back to Philly so that was enough for us. One thing we did do to pamper ourselves was find a cheap nail place and get pedicures. That was the best idea! Thanks Betty! We also found pashminas (wraps) at one of those vendors along the streets in NY so got a good deal there too.

After our little shopping adventure in Soho we headed back to the hotel to pick up our luggage then took the train to NJ to meet up with Betty's bro. and his girlfriend for dinner. We went to this Thai/Chinese restaurant and had a great meal. I wish I could have taken my leftovers home because my dish was so good. I don't think it would have done well on a two hour plus train ride back home. After dinner Betty's brother kindly drove us to the train station in Newark. We made it with about 5 minutes to spare. It was a little stressful getting there because we were worried we would miss our train, but we ran to the platform as soon as we bought our tickets.

Well, now I am back to my regular work schedule. I'm going to be pretty busy at work the rest of the week. Already looking forward to Friday! -S

New York, New York

It's Sunday morning here in the Big Apple with severly cloudy skies. I think we may get a little wet walking around today. Yesterday though was almost a perfect day. It was a little warm and humid, but we dealt with it.

So the plan was for my friend to meet me in Philly to take the train to NY. She had to catch an early morning flight to Philly so she had about 15 minutes to get the train from the airport to meet me in a station in the city. E. dropped me off early enough so I could get our tickets to NY so that wasn't a problem. What was a problem was that even though my friend, B.'s, flight arrived a few minutes early, the train wasn't quite as punctual. She got there just about 4 minutes before we had to board the train to Trenton, NJ. From Trenton we had to catch another train to Penn Station in NY. We ran to that one. All in all things were going smoothly. We made it to our hotel, checked in, got a bite to eat, and then got on another train to go to the Mets game.

Our seats at the game were great because we were in the shade, but the shade was from an overhang from the seats above us so we couldn't see the scoreboard. We watched the game for about 5 innings then got a Nathan's hot dog. I never had one of the famous Nathan's hot dogs so I was in for a treat. It was pretty tasty. We decided to leave the game a little early to be the crowded subway ride back into Manhattan. Well, this didn't go quite as well as we had hoped. Ok, so I love garlic. I love to eat it with just about everything, but the dude standing next to us smelled so bad that if there were ever a such thing as a vampire we would have never had to fear with him standing next to us. I was happy when he finally got off the train.

Today we are going to brunch in an hour then I don't know what we will do. If we have the energy I think we will take the train to Brighton Beach. Brighton Beach is the Russian area of NY. It is about an hour train ride from where we are and for me it is worth it. I can buy some Russian movies and CDs, plus, pick up some Russian food I haven't had in awhile.

Another option for this afternoon is to stay in Manhattan and do something touristy or just window shop. I think that would take less energy, but since both of us have been here many times it may not be as adventorous.

At any rate, we are leaving the city around 4:30 today to meet B.'s brother and girlfriend for dinner in Jersey. We are going for Thai food so I am looking forward to that. After dinner we had back to Philly on another long train ride.

Well, I hope you all have a great Sunday. I will post again soon! -S.

On vacation

It's been a few days since my last post. I did manage to upload a few of my pics from my stay in Russia last year, but that is about it. Hope you folks enjoy the photos. I have many more so I will try to add a few every now and then.

My vacation started yesterday and it was a good start. E. and I went to one of our favorite breakfast places. My absolute favorite place is still in State College, The Waffle Shop, but I have a few close second and thirds by me. One of the places has a deal where you can get half a waffle instead of the whole thing. I always like that so then I can get something else with it. They have this oatmeal and cinnamon waffle that is delicious with fruit and their homemade cream. I think I am starting to get hungry just thinking about breakfast.

The rest of the yesterday went well, except for one minor mishap. We tried to go to a coffee shop in a nearby town for lunch. We have never been there to eat and thought since we had the time we would give it a try. Well, this is the second time I have tried to go to the place and been let down. The first time you could still order drinks, but that was it. This time we weren't even able to go into the place. They had some major problems with a water pipe and had to close down temporarily. I think next time I want to try the place I am going to call first. We ended up going to another place that we were thinking of going to anyway. After we got home we went to our favorite coffee shop in town for dessert, a chocolate raspberry mousse, and to work on a crossword puzzle. It was a nice addition to the afternoon.

So today I woke up at 6 a.m. I don't know why, but I am suspecting it is because I can sleep in so my body is rebelling against that or something. I think I will have some breakfast and watch some morning tv. That usually puts me back in snooze mode.

My big plans today are to go shopping and maybe meet up with a friend. Maybe E. and I will go to a Phillies game tonight if things work out in his favor. Poor E. has to work today. ;) I am pretty excited to go shopping, even though I am shopping for work clothes. It may be the last time I get out shopping for quite awhile. I'm not a big shopper, but once in awhile it is nice to go for whatever reason. The one good thing about being a full time professional and part time student is that I save quite a bit of money during the academic year. I have time to eat, sleep, and do my work. Any time left over I usually spend with E.

Oh, and I finally made the decision to just go ahead and buy the stupid laptop. I have wanted a laptop for the past year and have just been too cheap to actually make the purchase. The problem now is that Dell is so backed up with orders at the moment I will have to wait probably another month for the thing to actually arrive. I tried looking elsewhere for a better deal and it seems Dell has exactly what I want for the price I want. Sigh!

Ok, well I hope you all enjoy your weekends. I may not have another chance to post before my big weekend in NY. I will get to sit in 95 degree heat and watch a Mets game. Woo hoo. I can't wait to sit and sweat all afternoon. I'm still looking forward to getting ballpark food though. That may be the highlight of the game unless the Mets lose. (Can't be a Phillies and a Mets fan.)

Until my next post, -S

another dreary day

Well, I decided to do laundry tonight instead of last night. Last night I organized our apartment. I really needed to go through these little piles of papers I had accumulating in our dining room and computer room. I feel much better now. I think it is almost therapy for me when I do clean up some of the clutter that just sits around for months.

Today is the third day in a row it has been cold and rainy. Luckily this should end by tomorrow. In addition to the rain ending, my work week will also end. I decided to take Thursday and Friday off to have a long weekend before work starts picking up and I start class again. I am really looking forward to my mini vacation. I don't have a lot planned until Saturday when I meet my friend at the train station to go to New York City for an overnight trip. We will take the train to the city. After we drop off our bags at the hotel we will take the subway to the Mets baseball stadium for a 4 pm game. My plan is to enjoy the game and probably a Nathans hot dog since I have never had one. After the game we will take the train back to Manhattan and get some dinner. The rest of the trip is pretty open. We will most likely go to brunch on Sunday, do a little shopping, and then head back home on the train.

Some of you may be wondering about my blog name. I chose Sasha because that is what I introduced myself as when I studied in Vladimir, Russia last summer. I felt my real name presents a problem for many Russians so I had to come up with a solution. Sasha is somewhat like my real name because it can either be used for a female or male. I think it is the best Russian name for me. For those of you who really know me the name change is certainly no surprise. I even do that in the U.S. I first started with "Molly" since I worked with a Molly. We would order take out and I would always find it easier to use her name. I stuck with that until I decided to use Sasha.

Well, I hope all of you have a good evening! Until next time, -S

back to work

Well, first off I would like to thank those of you who made comments. I now feel very welcome in the blogger world.

I try to get away from the computer on weekends so that I can relax and enjoy my time away from work. When school starts in a few weeks I will most likely be on the computer every day. I am now debating on whether or not it would be feasible for me to just suck it up and buy a laptop to help with my schoolwork. I know I have a lot of writing coming up in the next year and a half or two since I will be working on my M.A. thesis. Purchasing a laptop my make things easier on me in the long run, plus, they are having great sales right now. In addition, every other Friday I work a half a day then have the rest of the afternoon free. Usually during the semester I use that time to do homework so I can spend time with E. when he gets home. The tough part is when I come home and try to do work on those Fridays it inevitably leads to me taking a nap, and therefore, not getting a bit of work done. So can you readers tell me what you think? Can I justify my need for a laptop or should I stick to the ol' desktop and save the money for something else?

Now on to my weekend activities. E. and I had a pretty restful weekend. I have been traveling a bit on weekends lately so I used Friday night to sit in front of the TV and that was it. It felt so good to be at home. Saturday we had gorgeous weather. We went to one of my favorite breakfast places and then watched a movie, Crash. It was a good movie, but I wouldn't recommend for someone who likes lighthearted comedies. The subject matter was pretty heavy and a little tough to watch. I felt tense through certain parts of the film. Saturday evening E. and I walked into town and watched the films game over a light dinner.

When we woke up on Sunday we had expected another perfect day, but it certainly was not one. It turned cold and rainy, which is odd for August. The big events for that day was another movie, The Professional (one of my favorites), and lunch at the coffee shop down the street from us. We had lunch then proceeded to work on a crossword puzzle. The only other noteworthy things I did yesterday was clean our computer room and read the paper. It was a nice relaxing weekend!

I think I will sign off for now. I have some laundry to do and Monday is usually a good day for that. -S

Friday

Well, I made it through the week. I'm looking forward to the weekend. E. and I have a fun weekend of doing nothing planned. Actually, I think it is more like we will not travel a long distance like we have the past few weekends. Tonight he has an all sports evening planned. First, we have the Phils baseball game on and then on top of that two football games. Since one of the games involves his Minnesota Vikings I'm sure we will definitely catch some of that one. It is nice he gets to see his Vikings, but I'm not ready for summer to end so I much rather watch the baseball game.

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be beautiful. Whatever we do I hope it involves the outdoors. At the moment we are thinking we may go to a minor league baseball game in Delaware. Another option is to stay around town and walk to our farmer's market. It is a little more ritzy than the traditional farmer's market, but I really like the selection.

I still have a few weeks before I start class again so I want to enjoy my free time as much as possible. I am starting to dread the beginning of the school year. I think after 4 years of school I start to get burned out. I remember when I was an undergraduate I felt the same way my senior year. At least now I am only taking one class and have a full time job. It is nice to not have to worry about next months bills like I had to when I was a full time student with a part time job.

Sunday I think will be another nice day. Not much planned for that day. Most likely it will involve watching the Sunday morning show on CBS, reading the Sunday paper, and solving the crossword puzzle.

Not a real exciting post, but I'm blaming it on Friday. I think my brain stops working on Friday and Monday mornings. Hope you all enjoy your weekend! -S

First Day on the Blog

Well, here we go. I am now a blogger. I thought creating a blog would help me in two ways:

First, to keep my family and friends updated on my life.

Second, to add another skill to my list of already well-established computer program knowledge. Being that I am working in an educational setting I thought it was best to learn and eventually understand how to better use something like a blog as a supplemental teaching aid for teachers and, perhaps, students can use the blog to increase their knowledge in the subject of choice.

Perhaps my next post will be a little longer, but for now I will sign off. I hope you all enjoy reading my blog. -S
